Innovating Industrial Decarbonisation: net zero standards and opportunities

March 27, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am GMT

The UK Government set an ambition to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050 compared to 1990 levels. Given UK industry is responsible for around 23% of emissions, there is a crucial role for the industrial sectors to play.

Within this, standards and reporting requirements are crucial to enable decarbonisation; providing common good practice and language agreed by all relevant stakeholders, defining expectations that a product or system should meet, enabling testing, and measuring outcomes.

Key questions for this webinar include the following:

  • What are the standards around decarbonisation and GHG emissions?
  • How can technology and digitalisation play a role to support industry in meeting these standards?
  • How are standards and reporting requirements supporting the government’s priorities around competitiveness, and the protection of the environment and sustainability?

Join us to hear from experts at the British Standards Insititute (BSI), Simply Sustainable and more on this topic.

We will also hear from the Made Smarter Innovation Sustainability Accelerator (MSISA) team who will give an update on their open call for innovators from TRL 4-5 to tackle industry-specific challenges in collaboration with BAE Systems, Creagh Concrete and HS2.
